In July 2018, the Incubator hosted its first practitioner workshop with industry partner, Healthabitat. Held at the University of Sydney, this day-long event was dedicated to the updating of the Housing for Health Guide – Healthabitat’s step-by-step tool-kit for improving function to unhealthy houses.
Discussion and contributions encompassed questions of how the Guide might incorporate issues arising from aging, increasingly traumatised and co-morbid populations, but also to consider the impacts of climate change.
Looking ahead, the group also discussed the ways in which the Housing for Health methodology and Guide could be used to prepare people more generally for habitation challenges in the context of increasingly extreme weather events.
