That Waiting Business: Housing at Borroloola

By July 27, 2020 No Comments

Incubator collaborator and Yanyuwa/Garrwa artist Miriam Charlie has published an essay in Overland journal, ‘That Waiting Business: Housing at Borroloola’. Charlie describes the lack of recent housing provision at Borroloola, connecting the current challenges of isolating in crowded houses with the impact of another pandemic, the Hong Kong Flu, on town camp history. Incubator researchers Liam Grealy and Kirsty Howey worked with Charlie to tell this story, drawing on the photography she has produced on Borroloola housing. Charlie’s essay can be read here.
